Rev. Gary Mayer
Father Gary Mayer grew up in Stacyville, Iowa. His grandparents, Dean & Audrey Coyle, were members of IC in Charles City. He attended St. Ansgar High School and then Iowa State University studying Elementary Education. He transferred to Loras College in the middle of his junior year of college and graduated from there with a degree in Philosophy. His seminary studies were completed at St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in St. Meinrad, Indiana. His first assignment was at Holy Ghost, Holy Trinity and Sacred Heart parishes in Dubuque. Then he was transferred to Church of the Resurrection in Dubuque. During his five years in Dubuque he was also a member of the faculty and the Chaplain at Wahlert Catholic High School. In 2014, July, he became the pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Charles City and St. Michael Parish in Nashua. Father enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. Father Mayer's parents live in Stacyville and his brother and his family live in St. Ansgar.
